Greenwich senior attack Bryce Metalios reached a milestone in the team’s 18-1 road win over Stamford in an FCIAC game held on Wednesday.
Metalios scored his 100th career goal during the Cardinals’ victory, in a game which he registered six goals. Making the impressive feat even more spectacular is the fact that he reached the 100 career goal plateau in three seasons since the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Senior midfielder Flynn Milledge recorded a hat trick, while freshman Mikey Brescia had two goals and two assists to also power the Cardinals against Stamford.
James Pilc, a senior midfielder, scored twice, while Brian Collins had one goal and two assists and Colin Zeller and Reid Anderson each had a goal and an assist in the win.
Senior midfielder Quinn Warwick won 12 out of 14 faceoffs and scored a goal for Greenwich, which raised its record to 6-3. Metalios will look to add to his career goals total and the Cardinals will aim to gain their seventh win of the season when they visit Fairfield Warde for an 11 a.m. matchup on Saturday.
