Greenwich’s baseball team suffered a tough 4-3 loss to Wilton Thursday night in Wilton. The Warriors, who snapped Greenwich’s two-game winning streak, scored a run in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off win.
The Cardinals’ record is 8-9 following the loss, while the Warriors have a 10-6 mark. Greenwich scored two runs in the fourth inning and one run in the fifth inning. They finished the game with four hits.
Senior third baseman Justin Zych doubled, had an RBI and a run scored for the Cardinals against the Warriors. Sophomore first baseman John McHugh had one hit and one RBI, while senior Javier Serra added one hit and one RBI for Greenwich.
Senior outfielder Ryan Perez drove in a run and senior outfielder James Babb had one run scored. Senior right-hander Tommy Healey pitched five innings for Greenwich, allowing three runs, one of which was earned. Healey posted seven strikeouts.
For Wilton, Cole Silvia, a junior shortstop, had three hits and senior catcher Christopher Calderone had a hit and an RBI. The Warriors scored single runs in the first, fourth, fifth and seventh innings.
Greenwich hits the diamond again on Monday with a home game against St. Joseph.
