
Greenwich High School’s girls lacrosse team put the finishing touch on a successful regular season by downing Danbury, 19-2, in its regular season finale on Thursday.
With the win, the Cardinals concluded their regular season with a record of 9-3. Next, Greenwich will compete in the quarterfinal-round of the FCIAC Tournament. The eight-team conference tournament begins Thursday, with the higher-seeded teams hosting the games.
Against Danbury on Thursday, sophomore Emma Abbazia registered four goals and one assist to power the Cardinals. Senior Noey Johnson recorded a hat trick and assisted on a goal, as did junior Cece Tauber for Greenwich, which has won four of its last five games.
Sophia Neitzell, a junior, had one goal and two assists, while sophomore Mary Kate Frey added one goal and one assist in the win. Cate Adorney, a sophomore, scored one goal, as did freshman Aubrey Roth, senior Annabel Koven, sophomore Tess Furno and sophomore Grace O’Connor.
Koven also assisted on a goal, while sophomore Libby Zola had one assist and junior Rylan Sepot had two assists.
