Greenwich Academy’s Ellie Johnson earned USA Lacrosse All-America honors; Ava Butz, a 2022 GA graduate, received Academic All-America accolades

Ellie Johnson, a rising Greenwich Academy senior, was one of 22 Connecticut players who recently received USA Lacrosse/CHSCA All-America Team honors.

Johnson, a dynamic defender, who has committed to bring her lacrosse skills to Stanford University, has helped power Greenwich Academy’s strong and effective defensive unit the past several seasons.

She has started on Greenwich Academy’s successful Varsity A team since her freshman season and has enabled the squad’s defense to become one its strengths.

Ava Butz, a 2022 Greenwich Academy graduate, received USA Lacrosse Connecticut Academic All-American accolades. Butz, a midfielder, served as one of the Gators’ captains during her senior season this past spring.

Butz will soon join the lacrosse team at Cornell University. She helped spearhead GA’s productive midfield throughout her four seasons on the Varsity A squad.
