Another FAA game, another win for the Sacred Heart Greenwich field hockey team.

Sacred Heart remained undefeated in the FAA, registering a 6-0 win over Greens Farms Academy in a league game held today in Westport. The triumph moved the Tigers FAA record to 6-0 and overall mark to 12-1.

Charley Nemec scored two goals and assisted on one goal to pace the Tigers to their latest victory. Nemec’s goal gave Sacred Heart the lead for good at 1-0 with 6:17 remaining in the first quarter. Mackenzie Coleman, who scored the game-winning goal in Sacred Heart’s comeback 2-1 win against Greenwich Academy this past Saturday, assisted on Nemec’s tally.

Delfina Gonzalez Lobo made it 2-0, creating a goal with 2:40 to go in the opening quarter. With 48 seconds left in the second quarter, Coleman scored off an assist from Charley Nemec, giving the Tigers a 3-0 advantage on Greens Farms.

Emma Marvin and Charley Nemec discussed Sacred Heart’s winning effort against Greens Farms Academy.

“We think we played really well against GFA,” Marvin and Nemec said. “They are a great team, but we adapted to their style of play. Our offense progressed and picked up speed throughout the game. Also, we did a good job on executing our corners. Today, defense was successful and strong as they limited GFA’s ability to shoot. Overall, we had fun on the field as a team, and it’s really nice to come up with a win.”

Vivi Caruso scored a goal with 41 seconds left in the third quarter, putting the Tigers on top, 4-0. Caruso set Nemec up for a goal at the 13:18 mark of the fourth quarter and Ainsley Clough registered a goal with 12:44 remaining off an assist from Kate Nemec.

Olivia Caponiti posted five saves in goal for the victory. Izzy Kittredge had 10 saves for GFA.

Sacred Heart hosts Westminster School on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.
