Sacred Heart Greenwich’s swimming team continued its perfect start to its season, topping Westover School, 50-30, in a meet held on Wednesday.
The meet began with Sacred Heart winning the 200-yard medley relay in 1:54.95 and then junior Jane Cary gave the Tigers a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, registering a time of 2:04.87. Sacred Heart raised its record to 4-0 with the victory.
In the 200-yard individual medley, senior Alexandra Bastone finished first for Sacred Heart, clocking in at 2:11.52. Teammate Victoria Mordaunt, a sophomore, was second in 2:21.76.
Jane Cary was the 50-freestyle winner for the Tigers, touching the wall in 25.40 seconds. Lauren McCauley, a freshman gave SHG a winning effort in the 100 butterfly (59.88), while teammate Alexandra Marshall, a junior, won the 100 freestyle (58.82). Junior Julia Pujadas placed second in the 100 freestyle for SHG (1:00.34).
Bastone posted a winning time of 5:15.16 in the 500 freestyle and McCauley had the meet’s best time in the 100 backstroke (1:05.30). Mordaunt was the 100 breaststroke winner in 1:11.08, while Bastone, Jane Cary, Pujadas and McCauley combined for a winning time of 3:49.77 in the 400 freestyle.
