Receiving impressive performances from numerous athletes, Greenwich Academy’s track and field team earned victories against Miss Porter’s School and Westminster School on Saturday, raising its overall record to 3-1.
Maddy Lee, a junior, broke a Greenwich Academy record in both the 1500-meter run and 3000-meter run, while cruising to victory in both races.
Lee’s personal record in the 1500-meter run is 4:56.77 and her personal-record in the 3000-meter race is 10:44. Anaya Brown finished second in the long jump and triple jump for GA against Miss Porter’s and Westminster.
Alden Smith placed first for the Gators in the 100-meter hurdles, while teammate Mia Wilson was second in the 100. Hannah Murray earned top honors in the meet in the javelin and took second in the discus for GA.
Ella Zea had a second-place finish in the high jump, while Emily Goodman was second in the 800 run and Jenna Antoine was the runner-up in the shot put for Greenwich Academy.
Up next for Greenwich Academy is a meet against Greens Farms Academy, Canterbury School and Cheshire Academy on Wednesday at Cheshire Academy.
