The Greenwich High School boys volleyball team was a sweeping success against Fairfield Warde Wednesday in a match held in Fairfield.
The Cardinals earned a 3-0 win over the Mustangs, winning the FCIAC matchup by game scores of 25-16, 26-24, 25-23. With the victory, Greenwich improved its overall record to 4-6 on the season. Greenwich hits the court again Friday at FCIAC foe New Canaan.
Senior Jack Konigsberg did an impressive job of setting in the Cardinals’ match against Warde. Konigsberg registered 24 assists in the winning effort. Sophomore Keito Fukushima recorded 10 digs and four aces, while Greenwich teammate James Kovac, a junior, tallied 16 digs versus the Mustangs.
Nio Vigliante, a senior, helped pace the Cardinals, posting 11 digs and five kills. Ben Bowers, also a senior, also ignited GHS, notching 13 digs and six kills.
After visiting New Canaan on Friday, Greenwich hosts Darien on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
