
Scoring nine runs in the first inning, then adding five more runs in the second, Greenwich High’s softball team coasted to an 18-0 win over Bridgeport Central in an FCIAC game held in Bridgeport on Friday.
Sophomore Cameron Clark sparked the Cardinals on the mound and at the plate. Clark went 3 for 4 with a three-run home run and four RBIs for the Cardinals. She also struck out eight batters, allowed only one hit and issued just one walk to earn the win on the mound, while pitching to her sister, junior catcher Campbell Clark.
Senior outfielder/tri-captain Ciarra Castro was 3 for 4 with three RBIs, while junior shortstop Mia Gangi had two hits and three RBIs for Greenwich, which posted its third victory of the season.
The Cards play again Monday at Danbury at 4:30 p.m.
