
Sacred Heart Greenwich traveled to Dexter Southfield School in Brookline, Massachusetts to compete in the opening game of the Prep Invitational lacrosse tournament yesterday and it promptly imposed its will on the first opponent it faced.
The Tigers rolled to a 12-3 win over host Dexter Southfield School in the opening game of the Prep Invitational yesterday, receiving goals from seven players and outstanding defensive play.
The first half ended with Sacred Heart holding a 7-3 lead on Dexter Southfield, then the Tigers prevented Dexter Southfield from scoring in the second half.
Senior attack Kelly Haggerty scored three goals to help propel SHG to victory. Sophomore midfielder Charley Bacigalupo registered two goals and three assists, while junior midfielder Payton Sfreddo had two goals and one assist and junior midfielder Maggie Bacigalupo tallied twice to also ignite Sacred Heart’s offense.

Karina Sethi, a senior attack, posted one goal and one assist, while junior midfielder Katilin Robinson had one goal and one assist for the Tigers, who also received a goal from sophomore midfielder Daphne Fallon.
Sacred Heart plays again in the Prep Invitational today against Phillips Exeter Academy at Dexter Southfield School. The game is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. For the season, SHG sports a record of 15-1 and is currently on a 10-game winning streak.
